Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our dedicatedGynaecology team at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, this post is full time but part time hours may be considered. It is a fixed term post for 12 months.The post requires internal rotation between days and nights and weekends.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated nurse with a passion for women's health to provide high-quality nursing care to patients admitted for elective Gynae-Oncology procedures as well as those presenting with acutegynaecologicalemergencies. You will play a key role in supporting patients throughout their surgical journey, delivering safe, evidence-basedcare,and promoting a positive patient experience.

Within the ward there is alsoanEarly Pregnancy Unit,GynaecologyAssessmentUnit,andpre-opassessment unit, which will requireempathetic, patient-centredcare in often sensitive situations.

This role is eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route however sponsorship can only be provided where applicants meet the specific requirements set by UKVI, including the relevant skill and salary thresholds (£25000), and any role-specific criteria.

Main duties of the job

Provide high quality, compassionate nursing care to women admitted to theGynaecologyWard for elective surgical procedures and emergency presentations. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluateindividualisedcare plans, ensuring safe and effective delivery ofevidence-basedpractice.

Support the management of patients undergoing electivegynaecologysurgery, includingpreoperativepreparation,post-operativecare, pain management, and discharge planning.

Delivertimelyandappropriate careto patients attending with acutegynaecologicalconditions, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe clinical decision making.

Work collaboratively with medical staff, specialist nurses, healthcareassistantsand allied health professionals to provide seamless patient care andmaintainexcellent communication.
