Public Health and Commissioning Knowledge Specialist

Job summary
Based in Brighton, the post holder will work with local public health and commissioning staff of all grades and professions to promote and support evidence-based decision-making. They will work as a member of selected public health teams to provide highly specific, quality-filtered evidence to both teams and individuals in response to information needs. This will involve working alongside staff in their place of work, including attending multi-disciplinary meetings as appropriate.
The post holder will use expert knowledge of online searching to provide comprehensive evidence searches. They will provide evidence updates and other alerting services for staff, and will teach and train groups and individuals in evidence-based information skills, including critical appraisal skills.They will promote the service, liaise with key members of the teams, evaluate the service, and make recommendations for the future.

Secondments can't be agreed without this approval. If you are unable to gain approval, you should refrain from applying unless you wish to take this role as a fixed term position.

There will be a need to travel to City council offices within the East Sussex and Brighton area.
