Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Orthopaedic team, primarily based in our outpatients department.

As an Orthopaedic Practitioner,you willhavedirect responsibility for the proficient application and removal of a variety of casting materials,the role isacross three sites, ensuring patients receive a professional, efficient, and compassionate service.

These include our new Fracture Clinic in the Louisa Martindale Building at the Royal Sussex County Hospitalin Brightonwhich opened in 2023. This new building allowed us to provide modern facilities for patients and staff.

We also work from theRoyal Alexandra Children's Hospitalin Brightonand theSussex Orthopaedic Treatment Centre Outpatients department based at the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath.

We primarilyworkwithinthe hours of Monday - Friday 08:30 - 17:30 - this role is intended as fulltimebut part time may be considered.

This role will base you primarily at the Royal Sussex County Hospitalwhich is the Major Trauma Centre for the Sussex Trauma Network,but you will be expected to work cross site.

Main duties of the job

You will primarily work within the plaster room supporting the running of clinics that require plaster room input, you will also need to ensure Orthopaedic inpatients have access to plaster services.

Our Orthopaedic Practitioner team are required to complete their competency based training for certain tasks which you would be supported with as you progress.
