Job summary
We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic Consultants who are passionate about Emergency Medicine to join our existing emergency department (ED) team of friendly colleagues with varied backgrounds and interests. This is a full-time, permanent position.
We are a dynamic department situated in a beautiful semi-rural area of the South Coast affording the benefits town and country life. Access to transport links and good schools.
We serve a diverse socio-economic population including pockets of severe deprivation and a significant seasonal uplift.
As part of the Urgent and Emergency Care (UEC) development plan we are currently engaged in remodelling our service provision to include a "single front door" model, featuring an integrated Urgent Treatment Centre with an expanding workforce, including ACPs, EPs and GPs. There is considerable scope for the successful candidates to become actively involved in shaping this process.
We have benefitted from a recent team-driven redesign of our dedicated paediatric area led by our dynamic Paediatric Team. This has led to an improved service and patient experience.
We offer rota flexibility through self-rostering on HealthRota which facilitates an attractive work/life balance.
Main duties of the job
Performing at a high level over the full range of emergency and urgent care presentations.
In addition, we encourage consultants to participate in teaching and training the junior workforce and other Allied Healthcare Professionals informally on the shop floor in regular formal teaching sessions.
We have a close working relationship with our senior nursing leadership to foster collaborative teamworking and innovation.

- oFull and specialist registration (with a licence to practise) with the GMC or be eligible for registration within six months of the interview. o If you trained in the UK, you must also have a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Emergency Medicine or equivalent or be within six months of receiving it by the interview date. o If you trained outside the UK, you must provide evidence that your qualifications are equivalent to the UK CCT.
