Job summary
The service wishes to appoint8PAConsultant Breast Surgeonpostwith an interest in oncoplastic to support the Integrated Breast team in delivering an excellent service in symptomatic and screening Breast Disease. The service is seeing an increasing population along with increased numbers of newly diagnosed patients. It willprovidean opportunity to enhance and develop our local services.
Main duties of the job
It isanticipatedthat applicants will be proficient in reconstructive surgery/oncoplastic techniques and able toimmediatelycomplement the existing service delivery, working with colleagues atPreston Park Breast Centre, Brighton. The candidates will be part of a growing group of oncoplastic surgeonsat UHS Sussexwho aspire to provide patients with comprehensive surgical options, whilst working closely with our oncologists and radiologists.
The servicecontinuestomaintainand build relations with our Plastic Surgical Colleagues at Queen Victoria Hospital, whothe service hasclose links with.

Experience/ Qualifications
Essential
- oBasic medical degree
- oFRCS or its recognised equivalent.
- oFull and specialist registration (with a licence to practise) with the GMC or be eligible for registration within six months of the interview. If you trained in the UK, you must also have a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Breast Surgery and Oncoplastic Surgery or be within six months of receiving it by the interview date. If you trained outside the UK, you must provide evidence that your qualifications are equivalent to the UK CCT. (Equivalence must be confirmed by GMC by date of AAC)
- oIntercollegiate Fellowship diploma in General Surgery (or related discipline) with an interest Breast Surgery and Oncoplastic Surgery or equivalent

- oMembership of the Association of Breast Surgery
- oMembership of other relevant subspecialty organisations
- oMD or equivalent Higher Degree or evidence of relevant research

- oAble to demonstrate clinical experience and skill in Breast Surgery and Oncoplastic Surgery (including of range of reconstructive techniques)
