Job summary
We are seeking two UK NMC Registered Nurses with post qualification experience who are seeking a career in Occupational Health. The post holder will receive training on the job, and will also have the opportunity to gain qualifications in Occupational Health Practice. Once competencies and training is complete, the post holder will progress to band 6.
This role is eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route however sponsorship can only be provided where applicants meet the specific requirements set by UKVI, including the relevant skill and salary thresholds (£25000), and any role-specific criteria.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be trained to undertake a wide range of OH Services including:
Health clearance assessments based on Department of Health guidance and local policy
Provision of fitness for work advice to Trust managers and staff
Assessment of sharps injuries
Health surveillance
Undertaking clinical audits
Workplace vaccinations at Worthing and St Richard's Hospitals

To work as a specialist autonomous practitioner, managing own caseload.
- Responsible and accountable for specialist advice given to managers and staff.
- To assess fitness to work and provide recommendations including adjustments and advice, taking into account disability under the Equality Act 2010.
- Recognise where further advice is required and take appropriate action as needed.
- Request medical reports where identified additional information is required.
- Maintain accurate written/typed records.
- Produce accurate typed reports following OH assessments.
- Participate in health surveillance if required.
- Undertake and participate in clinical audits.
- Undertake assessments for staff exposure to blood and body fluids, arranging follow up care where indicated.
- Carry out blood taking and vaccination clinics as required.
