Exciting Opportunity for Band 5 RN's to join the passionate nursing team on the Acute Assessment Unit (AAU) with an integrated Medical Day Case Unit (MDCU), and rotation into a newly opened purpose built Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC).

Main duties of the job

Clinical Assessment and Care Delivery

  • Undertake comprehensive assessments of acutely unwell patients on arrival
  • Initiate and deliver evidence-based care, including administration of medications
  • Prioritise care needs using clinical judgement and early warning scoring systems
  • Support rapid turnover of patients through timely interventions and safe discharge or admission planning

Collaborative Multidisciplinary Working

  • Liaise effectively with doctors, ACP's, therapists and discharge teams
  • Participate in board rounds, contributing nursing insights to clinical decision making
  • Escalate concerns appropriately and advocate for patients in need of urgent care

Patient Experience and Communication

  • Provide clear explanations and emotional support to patients and families
  • Ensure patients understand their treatment plans, discharge advice and follow-up arrangements
  • Maintain dignity, respect and confidentiality at all times
