Job summary
To maintain all of Frailty wards storage and keep in a clean and tidy conditionacross Level 8 at Royal Sussex County Hospital and Newhaven Ward at Newhaven Rehabilitation Centre. This includes the Frailty Same Day Emergency Care (FSDEC) area.
To monitor, receive and unpack stock into allocated areas.
To ensure efficient stock management contributing to financial efficiencies
To ensure all necessary statutory check documentation is maintained.
To ensure equipment is decontaminated/calibrated and ready for use.
To contribute to the smooth running of Level 8 Frailty wards and NewhavenWard.
Support alternative ways of working, particularly where the need for changecannot be easily identified

Main duties of the job
To be responsible for the daily prioritisation of work adhering to the Daily/Weekly Task Sheet.Manage stock received and put away making sure current stock is rotated. Ensuring discrepancies are immediately reported and assisting with NHS Supplies to then make sure ordering of stock is correct.Ensuring that all equipment is in good working order and is returned when borrowed. This will include but is not limited to monitoring equipment,ultrasound, bladder scanner, ECG Machine, hoists, stand aids and cardiac monitors.Ensure there are an adequate number of Evo/Alaris/Baxter pumps available for the Frailty wards. As well as making sure all other duties are completed in a timely manner.

7. Ensure all stock trolleys on Level 8 and Newhaven Ward are topped up at leastdaily.
8. To be able to assist when called upon to get a treatment space ready for thenext patient, ensuring no delays in patient flow.
9. Maintain near patient testing equipment stocks and supplies, ensuring theprompt reporting of issues to Lead Support Worker or POCT team.
10. Ensure all storage areas are cleaned and kept tidy
11. Demonstrate an awareness of your own role within a major Incident and whenthe Trust is in business continuity.
12. Carry out any other reasonable duties commensurate with the role anddelegated or requested by the manager or supervisor, as the needs of theservice require.
13. Carry out daily checks on stock, responsible for ensuring necessary action istaken so an acceptable level of stock is available and ordering replacementstock as required.
14. Complete daily checklist reporting any issues to Lead Support Worker or ShiftLeader.
15. The job description and person specification may be reviewed on an ongoingbasis in accordance with the changing needs of the Department and theOrganisation.
16. Ensure that there are enough oxygen/entonox cylinders across Level 8 wardsand Newhaven ward.
