Job summary
We are recruiting for a position based in our friendly and supportive team to work with all RTT 18 week validation.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person who is able to work well both within a team as well as unsupervised home working with strong self motivation, confidence & an eye for detail. Once fully trained there will be a working pattern of 2 onsite and 3 days working from home (over 5 days, Monday to Friday on a rota basis) with working hours being between 08:00-17:00 (This is non negotiable and based at Worthing hospital. Please only apply if you live within commuting distance and can fulfil 2 days on site, with occasional extra days). Whilst full support will always be available you will need the motivation and strong self-discipline to manage your own assigned workload and escalate where necessary. Attention to detail is essential as you will be dealing with repetition where accuracy is key. You will need to be I.T competent and have experience with a variety of software.
NHS experience and medical terminology would be advantageous though not essential as full training will be given to the right person.

Main duties of the job
Main duties by factor:
- Using the appropriate Trust systems in place to capture and record accurate PTL data. Using their own initiative, supported by local guidance and the Access Policy to implement, analyse, interpret and apply judgements involving the 18 weeks rules and definitions to ensure compliance.
- Responsible for ensuring that patient records have the correct clock starts and clock stops, by validating and interpreting patient pathways from first outpatient appointment, through diagnostics, treatment planning and treatment. This may involve adjusting / correcting patient referrals where inaccurate data entries have been put in by divisions.
- Validating the weekly and monthly reports within agreed timescales.
- Monitor the PTLs to maintain accurate waiting times throughout the patient pathway
- Analyse data and produce ad hoc reports as directed by the RTT Lead.
- Ensure that divisional managers are aware in a timely manner of any previously unreported potential breaches of waiting times targets that are caused by validation.
- Highlight any systematic data recording errors or performance concerns to the RTT Lead.
- Monitor tertiary referrals for patients referred to or from another Trust for treatment.
- To respond to telephone queries regarding referral to treatment time information and data collection.
- Report to the RTT Lead any potential clinical governance issues, or complaints, to ensure they are dealt with in a timely and appropriate manner.
