Job summary
The post holder will practice autonomously (ACP) or under supervision as a trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner (tACP) within the emergency department (ED). The ACP/tACP will work primarily within the main ED; including resus, majors, ambulatory, paediatrics, CDU and mental health areas. Experience will be either supervised practice or observership depending on the individual ACP/tACPs current scope of practice. Clinical working hours are flexible but will include nights and weekends

Main duties of the job

The ACP/tACP will work primarily within the main ED; including resus, majors, ambulatory, paediatrics, CDU and mental health areas. Experience will be either supervised practice or observership depending on the individual ACP/tACPs current scope of practice. Clinical working hours are flexible but will include nights and weekends
1. Work collaboratively with all members of the multidisciplinary team to provide best clinical care, emotional and psychological support and education to patients and their carers.
2. Facilitate evidence-based practice and promote and undertake research and clinical audit within the service and across the Trust. Design and provide clinical/practical and theory-based education and training, eg. to nurses/AHPs, junior medical staff.
Work with innovation and flexibility to adapt to a fast-changing specialty, and work towards playing an integral role in the operational/strategic development of the service
ACP/tACPs will be expected to work towards the RCEM credentialing process. In recognition of this, qualified EC-ACPs will automatically be promoted to Agenda for Change pay scale 8a with further opportunity to work towards 8b.
