Job summary
The Princess Royal Hospital Occupational Therapy Service is looking for someone with a passion for Occupational Therapy within medicine and frailty . This will be a 12 month fixed term contract to cover a maternity leave. You will need excellent communication skills and enthusiasm with the ability to work autonomously and as a part of the wider MDT.
You will be responsible for providing a high standard of assessment, advice, treatment and evaluation of patients that are admitted to one of our wards, including patients with varying presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions.
We would particularly welcome applications from Occupational Therapists with previous experience in a Neuro specialist setting as we have patients across all our wards with Neurological conditions who would benefit from neuro specialist Occupational Therapy intervention.
A flexible and adaptable approach will be necessary to ensure delivery of an excellent OT service across all pathways. We would also consider an experienced Band 5 wanting to develop to be a Band 6 or an internal secondment

To provide specialist occupational therapy interventions using an evidence based, flexible and patient-centred approach, working within a Multi-Disciplinary Team to meet the health and social care needs of people who are referred to our services.
To perform a specialist occupational therapy role for patients referred to the post holder's clinical team with complex health and social care needs.
To provide supervision and leadership for relevant junior members of occupational therapy staff in conjunction with the team leader.
To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy services within a designated specialist team.
To provide supervision and training for students on practice placement
