Main duties of the job
Day to day work will be based on a medical ward, with rotations between 4 and 6 months in length. You will also take part in the general medical registrar on-call rota (15-person rota pattern)
Whilst on a speciality ward you will gain experience in managing common presentations, as well as have an opportunity to attend speciality clinics and perform procedures. You will work closely with more junior staff in completing ward rounds and senior reviews of acutely unwell patients.
Whilst on call you will clerk medical patients, attend post-take and consultant ward rounds and provide support to the medical junior staff. You will hold an emergency bleep for medical emergencies and cardiac arrests and will be supported in this by our critical care team.

- Basic medical degree
- Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
- MRCP (UK) or appropriate specialist qualification
- Advanced Life Support Certificate from the Resuscitation Council UK or equivalent

- Higher degrees including MSc, PhD or MD (where research thesis not part of first medical degree)
