Sexual Health Promotion Specialist

Job summary

Working as part of a team to deliver the highest standards, main duties will include development of the CSP Education Outreach programme for under 25's using novel technologies, contribute to the planning, development and delivery of the eC-Card programme and associated promotion and training plans, and contribute to the city wide KPIs of the Chlamydia Screening programme, including hard to reach groups and improvement to access of SHAC services.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide expert consultancy and advice to colleagues, the local authority, and other statutory bodies on health promotion issues within this topic area.
  • Work with existing providers, including voluntary and statutory organisations and other Core Services, to support the ongoing development of partnerships and working groups,
  • Work with local large employers to encourage the promotion of key Sexual Health Messages.
  • Deliver formal and informal presentations to large and small groups on the specialist work area.
  • To instigate and maintain effective networks with key nursing, medical and primary health care staff involved in the delivery of Sexual Health messages, in particular to help deliver the Chlamydia Screening KPIs.
  • To be involved in communication updates regarding the SHAC service to the wider community via a range of media including the SHAC website and other digital media as required.
  • Chair the SHAC communication group meetings/decision planning
  • Present complex information clearly to colleagues at all levels
  • Communication with health professionals in other agencies, locally and nationally regarding service provision.
  • To be present at relevant strategic groups including domain group and sexual health programme boards as appropriate and ensure there is a two way communication process
  • To attend a range of internal and external meetings as required

  • Support delivery and development of innovative ways of working with clients including the use of novel technologies.
