Critical Care Nurse

Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced ITU nurse to join the Band 6 team in this dynamic, diverse, newly built critical care unit, looking after a wide range of surgical, medical, neuro surgical and trauma Critical Care patients.

As a Band 6 you will be part of the senior leadership team, and will support junior staff, as well as shift lead and actively contribute to quality improvement within the unit.

We are the largest major trauma centre within our network, and are located in the colourful, dynamic city of Brighton, nestled between the sea and the South Downs.

Main duties of the job

Role Summary

To plan, provide and evaluate skilled evidence-based care for the critically ill patient, L2 & L3.

To support and develop colleagues by mentoring and assessing their skills.

To promote practice development within Critical Care.

To fulfil Local / Trust requirements in specified audit / project work.

Under guidance of Team Leader, to undertake performance of development reviews and shift coordination/shift leading in conjunction with /absence of Band 7 Critical Care Nurse
