University Hospitals Sussex is a regional teaching hospital across several sites following recent merger of 2 large trusts.This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our neuropsychology team providing specialist clinical psychology input to patients with Spinal Cord Injury and neurological conditions across Sussex.As part of the department you will joining a vibrant, highly experienced and supportive team. Main duties of the job
o Split post between the regional neuropsychology outpatient service and regional spinal cord injury service. Both services are located within the regional neurosciences service covering East Sussex, West Sussex and Brighton & Hoveo To provide a specialist clinical psychology assessment and intervention service to adults with Spinal Cord Injury across Sussex in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including pain management and psycho-social interventionso To provide specialist outpatient clinical neuropsychology service to adults presenting with neurological conditions, acquired brain injury and stroke, including cognitive assessment and rehabilitationo To provide input to patients and teams caring for adults with SCI who have been admitted to the regional Major Trauma Centre (Brighton), Sussex Rehabilitation Centre (Haywards Heath) and The Irvine Unit (Bexhill-on-Sea).o To offer advice and consultation on psychological and neuropsychological care to members of the interdisciplinary team other relevant healthcare professionals, carers, and significant others.o To assist in the development of a cognitive and mood screening pathway for SCI patients across Sussex.o To identify and implement audit and research projects.o Involvement in the training, continuing professional development and supervision of qualified staff, trainee clinical psychologists, assistant psychologists and other healthcare professionals.

1. To provide specialist assessment of adults with traumatic and non-traumatic SCI using appropriate methodology and to integrate this information into a psychological formulation.2. To provide specialist neuropsychological assessment of adults with neurological conditions and ABI using appropriate methodology and to integrate this information into a neuropsychological formulation.3. To conduct specialist capacity assessment using appropriate methodology and to integrate this information into formulations and management recommendations as appropriate.4.
