Sussex Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship Post - Applications are invited for two Senior Clinical Fellow posts in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery.
Post is vacant from 01 October 2025 to 06 October 2026.
Structured specialist training in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. This post is designed to be a stepping-stone towards a consultant career.
This is a clinical and research fellowship that will provide experience in the full range of shoulder and elbow surgery, co-supervised by three consultants, Mr Joideep Phadnis (Lead), Mr Cameron Hatrick and Mr Richard Murphy. www.sussexshoulderandelbow.com.
Main duties of the job
The goal of this fellowship is to act as a stepping-stone towards independent high level consultant practice. Hence, we feel it is paramount that the fellow performs both supervised and independent surgical procedures according to ability and experience which we will help develop during the fellowship period. Along with this, the fellow will be involved in the assessment and management of complex tertiary level cases referred to the unit from other hospitals.

- Basic Medical Degree
- Competencies equivalent to completion of ST6 as a minimum or appropriate specialist qualification
- Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
- Advanced Life Support Certificate from the Resuscitation Council UK or equivalent

Clinical Skills and Experience

- Completion of FRCS (Orth) or equivalent
- Evidence of having undertaken own development to improve understanding of equalities issues

- Demonstrable interest in major and complex trauma
