Main duties of the job
To ensure the mobile clinic van is available for key Hepatology testing, treatment and engagement events across Sussex. The successful applicant will collect the vehicle from it's base in Brighton, drive to the different event locations in Sussex, assist with set up and support the hepatology nursing staff deliver the best possible experience for patients. They will also be responsible for ensuring the vehicle is clean, tidy and fully stocked with the required equipment; as well as assessing risk at different locations, whilst the nursing teams are managing patient needs.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect fuel card and keys from vehicle base in Brighton and complete relevant sign-out sheet
- Complete thorough vehicle checks before every event via the FleetCheck driver App, escalating any defects or issues as soon as possible.
- Understand and adhere to procedures for dealing with complaints and ensure they are dealt with promptly and sympathetically. Be capable of writing a report of an incident if required to do so.
- Purchase fuel and any other relevant materials on route to events, ensuring that the vehicle always fuelled and adblue levels are at an operating standard
- Collect the vehicle at the agreed time and drive to relevant location(s) and events across Sussex.
- Complete initial risk assessment alongside the Hepatology Nursing Team and/or Hepatitis C Trust and implement any mitigations as required.
- Assist patients with access in and out of the vehicle as required.
- Return vehicle to base in Brighton after each event and charge onboard invertor system.
- Return fuel card and key to the vehicle base after each session and complete relevant sign-in sheet.
- Clean inside of the vehicle, ensuring the safe and effective use of cleaning products.
- Maintain effective and efficient records of all stock within the vehicle, observing trends in low stock items and evidencing them to the Service Improvement Project Manager, ensuring items below required levels are replaced.
- Take the vehicle for repairs, external cleaning, servicing and MOTs.
- Contribute positively to the effectiveness and efficiency of the team by advising the Service Improvement Manager of any potential improvements to work practices.
