Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity to work as part of the midwifery team carrying out assigned tasks involving direct care of the mother and baby in support of and under the supervision of a Registered Midwife

Provide advice and information on maternal and infant care, including advice and support with infant feeding and the initiation of breast feeding, undertake baby observations and new-born bloodspot screening both in the hospital and community settings.

Must have a current UK driving license.

Must be car driver

Main duties of the job

Provide advice and information on maternal and infant care, including advice and support with infant feeding and the initiation of breast feeding both in the hospital and community setting

Phlebotomy skills

To support the Midwifery Team with the delivery of high quality care to all mothers and their babies in the antenatal and postnatal period. This must be in accordance with the Trust's Clinical Guidelines

  • Give practical support, advice and information to mothers with regards the care of their baby,
  • Assisting the mother in her chosen method of infant feeding including giving advice / information on breast feeding to meet the Trust's standards
  • Demonstrate the principles of sterilization and preparation of artificial milk feeds
