Job summary
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Physiotherapist for this role as Joint Team Lead Physiotherapist in the Medical Therapy team working across the medical wards including frailty. This role will share operational and clinical leadership to this area, managing a team and being part of a wider Physiotherapy department. This service is currently over Monday- Friday and there will be an expectation to participate in Physiotherapy out of hours weekend services. We are a supportive department and work closely with the wider MDT.
Main duties of the job
Undertake a joint team leader role in planning, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating the Physiotherapy Service provided to Medical patients in the acute setting.
To take a leading role in the advanced assessment, clinical diagnosis and treatment of patients. These patients may have complex and/or chronic presentations.
To work closely with the Occupational Therapy team leads to provide a high quality integrated service to the medical patients.
To provide an effective high-quality service to all patients and take a lead role in supervision and teaching of Physiotherapists / students / technicians / assistants in that speciality.
To take a lead role in the on-going education and training of other members of the Medicine Physiotherapy team
To provide skilled team and service development leadership. To manage a team on a day-to-day basis, ensuring in high quality service delivery
To plan and anticipate changing service demands within current resources in conjunction with Physiotherapy / Therapies Leadership Team.
To undertake evidence-based projects, including recommendations for change in practice and to lead in appropriate departmental research in this clinical area.
To participate in Physiotherapy weekend out of hours services.
