Job summary
The University of Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has an exciting new opportunity for a dedicated Band 3 Physiotherapy Team Administrator/Assistant to join our friendly Orthopaedic Physiotherapy team at The Sussex Orthopaedic Treatment Centre, in the heart of Mid Sussex.
The Sussex Orthopaedic Treatment Centre is a specialist unit for patients undergoing elective and trauma orthopaedic surgery, including major joint replacements and day case surgery. Excitingly, we have recently been accredited by GIRFT (a national programme promoting excellence in surgery) as an orthopaedic surgical hub - one of only 8 pilot sites across the country. Currently we have several exciting patient improvement projects ongoing; including performing the first day case joint replacements in Sussex, and robotic surgery.
The department is committed to professional development which is facilitated through an established IPR, mentoring schemes and dedicated CPD time.
Main duties of the job
Main duties of the job
This is a new post and will require a hard working and enthusiastic individual to support our clinical team. The successful candidate will require excellent organisational, communication and IT skills. Experience in a healthcare setting would be an advantage, but not essential.
Under the supervision of the Clinical Team Lead, the post holder will be responsible for the management of the majority of administrative duties for our small, friendly, physiotherapy department.
Although this is predominantly anadministrative role, there is also a clinical element to this post. (Approximately 80% administrative duties and 20% clinical). After appropriate training, the candidate will be required to assist physiotherapists in the assessment and treatment of patients.
