Job summary

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic, committed and motivated Registered Nursing Associates to join our excellent nursing team on the Emergency Floor (EF) at Worthing Hospital. The EF is a 67 bedded unit which provides care for patients who may have acute medical, surgical or complex frailty needs. Additionally, we have an Ambulatory Care Area which has been designed to allow same day access to investigations, treatments and appropriate follow up without the need for an inpatient stay. Referrals to the unit are accepted from a variety of sources including GP's and our A&E department.

We are supported by our own excellent practice education team who provide support and opportunities for professional development through a variety of study days and courses.

To succeed, you'll need to be committed to delivering high quality, patient focused care with pride and respect, have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to provide evidence of personal and professional development. You will be accountable for your own practice while supporting the registered nurse by caring for patients and delivering high standards of care.

For newly qualified Nursing Associates the trust has a robust preceptorship programme and you will receive excellent opportunities for development. Along the way, you will be supported by the in-house Practice Development Nurse or a named mentor who will oversee your training needs, supported by the wider divisional education team.

Main duties of the job

  • You'll have access to ongoing training and continual professional development opportunities as the Emergency Floor has its own practice development team.
  • Deliver high-quality, compassionate care under the direction of a Registered Nurse with a focus on promoting health and independence.
  • Have proficient attitudes and behaviours compatible with NHS values.
  • Work as part of a designated clinical and care team delivering care that focuses on the direct needs of the individual.
  • Carry out specific delegated clinical and care tasks and responsibilities to a high standard and competency, under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Take responsibility for developing your own clinical competence, leadership, and reflective practice skills within the workplace.
