Job summary
Ward based Technologist work alongside clinical staff to support the efficiency of equipment and stock management. The role will ensure that rotation of stock across L8 to reduce cost measures is a priority, work alongside the ward managers to ensure that stock levels are kept at the necessary levels on each ward to prevent wastage through out of date items.
The post holder will;
- Carry out a range of technical and administrative activities.
- Participate as an active member of the support worker team;

- Participate in ongoing training and development, and maintain skills necessary for the role

Main duties of the job
We are looking for a Ward Based Technologist to split their working week across three of our friendly wards within Frailty Medicine at The Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
The Louisa Martindale Building is a newly built building and part of the 3T's expansion of the hospital.
L8 of the LMB specialises in caring for older people and comprises of three very busy wards.
Main duties include ordering and rotation of stock, ensuring levels of stock is maintained and returned to stores if not required. Working within a team, listening skills and adaption within the ward settings.
Simple maintenance of equipment.
You will have staff to refer to and training will be given as required. Computer skills are required for emails, ordering, labelling and spreadsheets.
The role does not involve patient care; however you will be working in patient areas. This role plays a important part in reducing costs and the sustainability of our wards.
