Job summary

  • To work as a health care assistant in the Maxillofacial outpatient department.
  • To assist in the day to day running of the department
  • To see patients through to clinics, assist and help patients when needed.
  • To set up and close down after procedures
  • To work closely with the MFU team including nurses, dental nurses and other HCA's

Main duties of the job

  • Assisting in clinics with nurses, dental nurses and doctors. To assist in minor operations and procedures in the clinic environment.
  • To ensure the smooth running of clinics and to see the patients journey through the maxillofacial department is efficient and patient centred.
  • To help set up and close down clinics.
  • To check and rotate stock and refill clinic rooms in preparation for the next clinic.
  • To pass on information regarding delays etc to the patient.
  • To work as part of a team
