Senior Medical Resourcing Advisor

Job summary

We are looking for an experienced recruitment processional to lead and coordinate our consultant recruitment at UHSussex. Working in partnership with medical leaders to fill their consultant and SAS grade vacancies, you will be managing our talent acquisition strategies and administer the end-to-end recruitment process. Previous healthcare recruitment experience would be beneficial, however, a highly customer focused, and engaging approach is essential. A key part of the role will be improving the medical recruitment processes including how we apply NHS AAC guidance and ensure that we reduce our time to hire. Fundamental to the role is the ability to develop excellent relationships with recruiting managers and ensure that candidates experience is at the heart of recruitment processes and practice.

Main duties of the job

Lead on the development and delivery of senior medical staff resourcing and talent acquisition strategies to ensure that UHSussex attracts high calibre talent.

Provide specialist resourcing support and advice to target hard to recruit to roles and specialities.

Lead on process improvement work related to the recruitment of senior medical staff.

Ensure that high standards of employment check compliance are embedded in senior medical staff recruitment activity.

Job responsibilities

  • Work as a dynamic, proactive and inclusive medical recruitment specialist to support the senior medical appointment process working closely with the existing medical workforce team, Trust leads and senior leaders.
  • Work closely with divisional teams to develop strategies to ensure that the Trust can attract a medical workforce to deliver high standards of clinical care.
  • Ensure that the medical workforce team is able to demonstrate working in a positive, proactive and customer-focussed way to fill vacant posts
  • Own, manage and coordinate social media strategies with the aim of driving candidate attraction and talent acquisition
  • Deliver on the UHSussex employer brand from a medical workforce perspective working with the communications department as necessary
  • Draft papers for the relevant steering groups and other forums regarding resourcing plans including robust labour market appraisal.
  • Develop business cases for investment in resourcing activities for example print media, paid online advertising and brand building initiatives.
  • Ensure that recruitment fully complies with the NHS Employment Check Standards.
  • Conduct audits of recruitment processes and procedures.
  • Support the internal and external audit process as required.
  • Represent UHSussex at recruitment events (these may be the evenings or at weekends).
  • Develop toolkits as applicable to medical workforce regarding values based recruitment.
  • Lead EDI initiatives with subject matter expert colleagues to ensure that the Trust has a diverse and representative workforce at all levels of the organisation.
  • Design and deliver medical recruitment training including EDI and unconscious bias awareness.
  • Where required, support interview panels by proving professional interview and offer management support.
  • Develop a competency/values based interview question resource, leading improvements in the quality of selection interviews.
  • Provide analysis of recruitment activity including candidate retention and EDI considerations and draft reports for senior directorate leadership.
  • Review selection processes to ensure they are fit for purpose i.e. interview format and testing.
  • Develop direct sourcing strategies for key staff groups, introducing a proactive approach to key critical roles.
  • Support the Medical Workforce Managers with system and process development work streams, leading on end-to-end value stream improvements.
