Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic and specialist Senior CT Radiographer (Band 6) to join our friendly and sociable imaging team at the Royal Sussex County Hospital (RSCH) in Brighton. This exciting opportunity will be perfect for a suitably qualified radiographer who is committed to providing and maintaining a very high standard of patient care and imaging outcomes.
A brand new, purpose-designed, imaging department is due to open this year in an expansive redevelopment of the Royal Sussex County Hospital site (3Ts Development). This promises to be a great opportunity for all members of the imaging team who wish to be part of real improvement in patients' experience and imaging outcomes.
The department is supported by a team of Lead Superintendent Radiographers and Superintendent Radiographers, and in return for your commitment to us we will provide ongoing support for your professional development, as well as a friendly, challenging and stimulating work environment.
Main duties of the job
The CT department currently consists of 3 scanners - one Siemens: Definition Flash and two Definition AS, one of which is situated in the Accident and Emergency Department. With the expansion into the new Louisa Martindale building and replacement of the current scanners this will include two Canon Aquilion One Prism, one Canon Prime SP, one Siemens Drive and one Siemens Exceed, culminating in a total of 5 CT scanners on this site.
As a Senior CT Radiographer you will initially be working between our Emergency Imaging department and our Main CT department seeing patients from a variety of sources as both Inpatients and Outpatients. This will then extend into the full use of all systems as new departments open.
The post-holder will participate in the 7-day extended day and out-of-hours (OOH) rotas providing a high standard 24 hour emergency service for the Royal Sussex County Hospital. The post will include an orientation to plain film, theatres, mobiles and RACH to be able to provide these services. This post also has a commitment to some weekend shifts as part of core working hours.
