Job summary

We are a small friendly team, looking for an enthusiastic Staff Nurse, Band 5, to join our progressive general outpatients department. We can offer either full time or part time positions, hours and shift patterns to be discussed at interview. The Department is currently open 5 days a week from Monday to Fridays from 0800 hrs until 1800 hrs.
The department manages the running of a variety of speciality clinics including, respiratory medicine, neurology, cardiology, rheumatology, digestive diseases, ophthalmology and a small day case unit for pain management clinics. This makes for a varied and interesting workload.
Main duties of the job
- You will undertake a wide range of clinical duties relating to different specialities for example, investigations required for ophthalmology clinics, assisting with minor operations for pain management, and performing ECG's and phlebotomy.
- You will be required to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care in consultation with the multi-disciplinary team whilst supervising the care and treatments administered by junior staff.
- You will require the professional skills and knowledge to work using your own initiative relating to the different specialities including being able to act in emergency situations.
- You may be required to work without supervision within the outpatient care setting in the absence of the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.
