Job summary

Do you want to play a key role in the future of the Acute floor at the Royal Sussex Hospital and improve the experience of our patients and workforce?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, visionary nurse leader to join the Royal Sussex County Hospital Acute Floor leadership team and undertake a 22 month secondment as the matron for Acute assessment and Emergency Ambulatory Care.

The successful individual will have the unique opportunity of leading the team through a departmental rebuild and embracing the opportunities for change and improvement to the service that sets the vision and journey for Acute assessment and same day emergency care for the future.

We are seeking a confident, caring, and compassionate individual who will embrace change and the opportunities that this creates.

You will be responsible for leading standards and developing pathways of care across acute care.

Main duties of the job

The Matron will support the RSCH Acute Floor Head of Nursing in the delivery of key performance targets. They will be accountable for the provision of effective professional nursing leadership and proactive resource management for their clinical area. As an experienced practitioner the post holder will be expected to focus on providing a clean environment for care, ensuring best practice in infection control, improving clinical care standards and treating patients with dignity and respect alongside service development and transformation.
