Job summary
This is a Specialty Doctor post supporting established Nuclear Medicine and therapy services and an expanding PETCT service. The successful applicant will be expected to rotate across Brighton, Hayward's Heath and, on occasion, the Brighton and Sussex Medical School (PETCT), undertaking general Nuclear Medicine reporting, Nuclear Cardiology, PETCT and Radionuclide Therapy (please note that experience in radionuclide therapy is not essential and where necessary the successful applicant will be expected to undertake further training in this area).
The Nuclear Medicine Department sits within the Imaging Department, which will shortly be subject to an exciting change as a part of the Trusts 3Ts program. A wide range of diagnostic procedures are performed including nuclear cardiology, renal, lung, infection/inflammation, skeletal, tumour, GI, brain and lymphatic imaging are undertaken in the department. Therapy includes services for thyroid and targeted bone therapy.
Main duties of the job
The job plan for this position will be based on 10 PAs to include 9 DCC PAs to include at least 1 SPA and will allow for flexible working and time shifting.
The clinical duties of this post includes the following:
- Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT Clinical Cover
- Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT vetting
- Liaising with clinicians as required to discuss requests.
- General Nuclear Medicine reporting
- Nuclear Cardiology reporting and covering of stress lists.
- PETCT reporting
- Radionuclide Therapy depending on level of experience (please note that experience in radionuclide therapy is not essential and where necessary the successful applicant will be expected to undertake further training in this area).
- Supervision of radiology trainees
- Participation in MDMs
There is no on Call Commitment with this post.
