Job summary
Applications are invited from enthusiastic, motivated and conscientious individuals with excellent interpersonal skills for this interesting and busy post.
As a member of the Inpatient Admissions Team, you will be the first point of contact for patients to the Department and responsible for the administration of the waiting list for designated specialty areas. You will be responsible for booking surgical procedure for patients for a designated specialty/specialties in line with clinical priority and waiting time targets.
We are looking for full time candidates to join the Admissions Team at the Royal Sussex County Hospital but also welcome applications from candidates looking for part-time/job share roles.
Main duties of the job
You should be a good team player with the ability to manage your own workload and possess an excellent telephone manner.
Computer competence, strong customer care, communication and team working skills are all required. Experience in a clinical administration role is desirable.
You will also need to be able to balance tact and assertiveness, combined with the ability to work calmly and patiently within a team, in a sometimes stressful environment.
You will have experience of working in a high volume patient/customer focused role.
Experience of working within the NHS is an advantage, including knowledge of PAS, however this is not essential and we welcome applications from candidates from outside of the NHS.
