Advanced Speech and Language Therapist in ENT and Voice Disorders

Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a speech and language therapist with experience in ENT and voice disorders to join our newly created and combined ENT/Voice team across our Trust which now spans Mid and West Sussex. This post provides voice outpatient services to patients at Worthing, Southlands and St Richards Hospitals and will suit people with knowledge, skills and experience in this service area. Excellent opportunities are available to acquire more advanced dysphagia competencies and there are opportunities to work with videofluoroscopy and FEES.

Main duties of the job

Outpatient and virtual speech and language therapy sessions for assessment, advice and therapy.

Participate, with the designated ENT consultant, in running the joint ENT/SLT voice clinic and to contribute to objective videostroboscopic and fibreoptic laryngeal examination and to carry out instrumental assessment of voice disorders; to report on results to SLT colleagues within and external to the Trust and give specialist opinion.

Maintain or develop skills in instrumental assessments for voice and dysphagia.

Mentor other speech and language therapists, students and other healthcare professionals.

Counselling patients and carers.
