We are looking for enthusiastic Band 5 Dietitian to join our friendly team at our busy brand new purpose built teaching hospital in fantastic Brighton. This is a permanent full time position due to promotion of current post holder.
We will accept your application if you are about to qualify or if you have band 5 experience and you are looking to develop your skills.
Our hospital trust has been rated 'outstanding for caring' by CQC and this is a really great place to develop your career. We are based just minutes from the sea and the vibrant city centre.
Alongside two other band 5s in this acute team you will cover a range of acute general medical/surgical/cardiology & respiratory wards. You would also have one outpatient clinic per week.
The post includes patient talks and nurse/Dr training so you would gain fantastic experience.
You would be part of a well-respected, highly knowledgeable team including regional specialities for paediatrics, gastroenterology, oncology, renal, neurology & neurosciences, critical care and trauma in this very busy teaching hospital.
This will give you fantastic opportunity to develop exposure to many specialist areas so would also suit someone looking to gain skills in a large, leading teaching hospital.

Job responsibilities
To manage a clinical caseload of adult patients by assessing and treating patients/clients with a variety of general, medical, cardiac and surgical problems.
Within the acute hospital at RSCH this may include general medicine, general surgery, cardiology, care of older people, stroke, trauma & orthopaedics and respiratory.
The outpatient clinic rotates between general dietetics and Newhaven
There are talks to patient groups e.g. cardiac rehab, first line IBS and clinical staff e.g. nutrition screening, nutrition support, volunteers talk. The Band 5s also rotate to cover other outpatient clinics as required.
To work as a member of the dietetic team and with other healthcare professionals, nurses, speech therapy, catering, doctors, etc to ensure an efficient, clinically up to date dietetic service is provided.
Be involved in cover of other Acute Dietitians during as required.
Manage an autonomous clinical caseload of patients with a variety of clinical complexity. This will include undertaking individual patient consultations at ward level, in out-patients and patient group education sessions such as Cardiac Rehab and delivery of part of the weight management programme.
