Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the Lead Practice Development Nurse to establish and maintain a positive and effective clinical learning environment for Pre-Registration, Newly Qualified Nurses (NQN's) and Registered Nurses new to the Acute Trust.
Based at the Princess Royal Hospital, Balcombe Ward
The post holder will need to work with minimal supervision; proactively contributing to the support of pre-registration, newly qualified and newly appointed nurses to the department. Support will include establishing and maintaining a dynamic and effective clinical learning environment, promoting inter-professional working and learning. In addition, they will assist with and support assessment of learners in practice.
The Practice Educator will deliver safe, high quality, evidence based care; the post holder will be expected to act as role model, maintain a high clinical profile whilst working alongside registrants, delivering training and assessment of competencies.
The post holder will work collaboratively with members of the Education and Practice Development Teams, assisting in the development and implementation of quality education programmes that reflect contemporary practice and promotes high quality patient care, whilst incorporating national guidance and supporting the Trust's clinical governance agenda.

- oRN (A), RGN BSc 1st Level
- oPSPA/ Mentorship Qualification or equivalent
- oCompleted Degree Level (6) Education including Emergency Care BSc or Physical Assessment/equivalent at Level 6
- oCompletion of National Curriculum and Competency Frame work in Emergency Nursing Level 1
- oSigned off and maintained Emergency Department Competencies in Triage, Plastering, Suturing, PGD's, Venepuncture, Cannulation, Catheterisation
- oAttended in-house Critical Care SD
- oCompletion of Paediatric Immediate Life Support and Intermediate Life Support
