About the Role

As an Area Clinical Lead, you will provide clinical leadership across a defined locality and advanced practice area, supporting the delivery of high-quality, safe, and person-centred care. Working across the four pillars of advanced practice, you will promote clinical excellence, drive workforce development, embed effective governance, and contribute to service transformation. This role involves collaboration with operational, education, and quality colleagues, as well as local system partners, to improve patient outcomes and address health inequalities.

You will be responsible for the oversight of clinicians in the dispatch desk, including governance, education, training, productivity, and clinical audit. The post includes a sessional job plan (40% locality-based, 40% specialty-based, 20% clinical practice)

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain clinical credibility through regular advanced / critical paramedic practice
  • Provide visible clinical leadership and foster a culture of openness and continuous improvement
  • Lead and coordinate clinical governance activities
  • Support the implementation of clinical pathways and innovations
  • Work as part of the local SLT as required by the Head of Ops
  • Act as an educator, supervisor, and mentor for advanced practitioners and trainees
  • Lead or contribute to audit, research, and quality improvement projects

  • Evidence of continuing professional development across all four pillars of advanced practice

  • Strong leadership, clinical assessment, and decision-making skills
  • Full UK driving licence with C1 category

Desirable

  • Postgraduate certificate/diploma in education, leadership, or management
