What you'll be doing:
As our Information Governance Lead, you'll:
- Lead and deliver IG strategies aligned with NHS and legal frameworks.
- Oversee key programmes including the Information Asset Register, DSPT, and Cyber Assessment Framework.
- Provide expert advice on national and local IG developments.
- Investigate and manage IG incidents, breaches, and risks.
- Deliver DPIAs and information sharing agreements with precision.
- Educate and train staff at all levels on IG responsibilities.
- Deputise for the Head of Information Governance / DPO when required.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to embed best practices.
- Provide leadership and line management responsibilities for other members of the team.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has in-depth knowledge of UK GDPR, NHS IG frameworks, and DSPT
- Can lead complex IG programmes with confidence and clarity
- Is a skilled communicator, able to engage diverse audiences
- Thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
- Resides within the Trust's locality areas (Kent, Surrey, Sussex)

The Information Governance Lead will support the Trust and external organisations as a subject matter expert reporting directly to the Head of Information Governance / DPO.
An Information Governance Lead is responsible for the delivery of specialist Information Governance advice with a focus on national and local developments to enable compliance with the Data Protection Legislation (Data Protection Act 2018 and General Data Protection Regulations 2016) and in addition, application of the Caldicott Principles along with all associated aspects of confidentiality and security.
Lead on the ongoing Information Asset Owner (IAO) / Information Asset Register programme using project management methodology and delivering IAO training.
The role is designed to ensure successful completion and delivery of the Cyber Assessment Framework / Data Security & Protection Toolkit and Information Governance Framework in the NHS, both to external customers and internally to SECAmb staff. The post will require travel to other SECAmb and other partner organisation sites if required.

- Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of recent experience of working at a similar level in specialist area

- Recent extensive experience in information governance assurance frameworks and delivering to the required standard of quality assurance and audit.

- We require a knowledgeable and self-motivated Information Governance Lead with recent comprehensive knowledge of Information Governance preferably in an NHS environment.
