Job summary

The System Quality Lead is responsible for ensuring Trust CQC compliance with quality and safety standards across their integrated care system (ICS)or EOC/111. This role provides expert advice, data analysis, and guidance to support Trust directorates and functions in fulfilling their responsibilities.

Aligned with other Quality leads, the post holder is accountable for strategic quality assurance and CQC compliance within their respective footprint, working closely with the Executive Director of Nursing (Chief Nurse) to maintain high standards of care and patient experience within the Trust.

The post holder will be a key senior member within their ICS-aligned or the EOC/111 Senior leadership team responsible for all governance and quality forums, and to identify and manage areas of non-compliance and challenges in meeting the CQC KLOE. They will lead the Trust's quality and safety committees within their area and ensure a consistent approach to quality and safety workstreams is embedded and maintained by the directorate and functional teams.

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, implementing, and coordinating systems governance and quality assurance functions
  • Overseeing quality assurance and engagement activities across operational units within their ICS/EOC 111 footprint, with a focus on the CQC Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOEs), embedding Quality Management System approach across the area
  • Lead the development and implementation of quality-focused strategies to ensure high standards of care across the Trust and the delivery of high-quality patient care
  • Support the Senior Leadership Team in the delivery of directorate wide, system and national initiatives
  • Oversee patient safety improvement programmes and ensure effective incident investigations
  • Lead change process driven by quality improvement and learning in highly complex and potentially contentious situations involving service and workforce development

  • Demonstrable recent or current senior management experience at the same or similar level
  • Delivering and improving clinical quality and governance and assurance.
  • Previous or current working in a pre-hospital healthcare or emergency service setting at a senior level (minimum of Band 8a)
  • Significant experience of system-working across health and/or social care
