Qualifications and Training

Essential

• Full driving licence with no more than 3 points on application for motor vehicles of Category B & C1 (manual) (Category A/C/C+E/D desirable)
• Degree or equivalent level of theoretical knowledge and experience

Desirable

• Hold a blue light driving Qualification
• Undertaken a collision investigation course
• Expert with regards to Incident Data Recorders

Knowledge

Essential

• Road Traffic/Transport Legislation
• Extensive knowledge of the Driving standards industry
• Current knowledge in the developments of driver training and driving techniques and of the underlying requirements of the Driver Training Advisory Group, Joint Emergency Services High Speed Driver Training Advisory Group and the Driving Standards Agency.
• Extensive knowledge of legislation relating to vehicle types, driving licences, and motoring issues.
• Extensive knowledge of the Motor Claim Industry/insurance sector

Desirable

• Working knowledge of ambulance driver training programmes
• Ability to make priority judgements
• Working knowledge of Collision Investigation and can quickly establish relationships with Police Collision Investigators to produce timely and accurate reports.
• Extensive knowledge in the analysis of vehicle borne data such as Incident Data Recorders and CCTV

Experience

Essential

• Chairing meetings
• Presenting Evidence/Conducting Investigations
• Previous Experience of Managing Road Risk

Desirable

• Work in the blue light sector at a Motor Risk Level
• Experience in writing court- ready reports
• Blue light driving experience
