Within a new innovative ambulance service initiative, we are now recruiting Dental Nurses to our Contact Centres. These new roles will ensure we deliver expert support and advice to our patients, as well as offering expert clinical advice and support to our existing operational staff and clinicians working within our clinical assessment service.
Your role will include remote clinical assessment, to ensure the best possible patient care to those who contact our service with dental and general health enquiries and needs.
You will be trained in the use of our clinical systems and triage pathways.
Main duties of the job
To provide clinical dental advice to patients using the trust Clinical Decision Support dental triage system.
Provide remote dental triage to appropriate incidents and where applicable provide home management instructions, medication advice and health information to patients to discharge patients from the care of the service, in line with the NHS Pathways call triage system.
To work as part of the Clinical Multi-Disciplinary team in providing quality, evidence-based health care to meet the immediate needs of the patient

You will need to be able to work well within a team and independently, have fast/accurate typing skills and have a good standard of education.
Successful candidates should hold a NEBDN approved qualification at Level 3, be registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) with a minimum of 2 years post-registration experience.
This role is suited to people who remain calm under pressure, are good at problem-solving and have excellent interpersonal skills, with an empathetic nature.
Our comprehensive training programme:
- 8 weeks training programme (7.5 hours per day unless otherwise stated)
- Full time during training
- Has a must attend policy, with no annual leave being permitted during this period.
- Comprises of classroom and observing and mentoring periods within the working environment.
- Is designed to fully support the full transition to call handling independently.
- You will be required to take and pass all assessments during your training in order to pass the course. You will be offered a resit should you fail, if unsuccessful at the resit your employment will be terminated with the Trust.
