Job summary
The Oxleas Adult Autism Service is seeking a Principal Psychologist to lead its newly established Community Autism Service, which supports Autistic adults without a learning disability or severe mental health conditions. The role encompasses clinical leadership, caseload management, multidisciplinary coordination, the provision of specialist guidance, and collaboration with families, carers, and local stakeholders across Bexley, Bromley, and Greenwich. Core responsibilities include further developing referral and intervention pathways, supervising daily clinical operations, delivering specialist training and resources, and supporting the ongoing expansion of the service.
This permanent position is based at Queen Mary's Hospital and is offered on a part-time basis (30 hours per week). This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the set up of a new and much needed service and to enhance support for autistic adults within the community.

Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities include:
- To manage the caseload of clients referred to the service the three boroughs of Bromley, Bexley and Greenwich and lead on the coordination and delivery on the agreed clinical specialist programme of care.
- To provide clinical leadership within the CAS with management and coordination and prioritization of clinical resources and staff across different disciplines (including Occupational Therapy, Psychology and Speech and Language Therapy) based on the specific clinical needs and clinical goals of each client.
- To be responsible for providing clinical and operational guidance at a systemic multi-disciplinary level to the different clinicians within the MDT and liaise closely with their discipline specific clinical supervisors.
- To provide support, supervision, and governance to the MDT Team and specialist clinical consultancy to wider organisation and third party community organizations, to ensure high quality clinical care across inpatient and community settings and support the clinical development of the service.
