An exciting opportunity has arisen for an HCA to contribute to the integrated neurodevelopmental pathway in Oxleas. Working across the Greenwich and Bexley teams the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting diagnostic assessments for ADHD and ASD supporting the ongoing physical monitoring of children and young people on medication.

You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes Clinical Nurse Specialists, Clinical Psychologists, Consultant Psychiatrists, Community Paediatricians, an Advanced Pharmacist, Clinical Associate Psychologists and an HCA.

We require a motivated individual with a keen interest in improving services for children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions and an ability to adapt quickly to change. The applicant will have good interpersonal skills and an ability to work well as part of a team. They will also have good computer skills and competence in using digital technology.

Hours of work will be predominantly 09.00 - 17.00 with flexibility to work between the hours of 08.00 - 18.00 occasionally to meet the needs of the service. Operational management is provided by the Team Leader for the Greenwich ADHD team.

Main duties of the job

To work as a member of the IND ADHD team providing support in the assessment and ongoing management of children and young people with ADHD and ASD.

To support diagnostic assessments for ADHD by administering an objective assessment tool and collating information gained from this with other background information gathered from families, schools and other sources.

To provide the multi-disciplinary team with the information gathered above to support clinical decision making about diagnosis.

To be competent in undertaking physical monitoring of children and young people, such as blood pressure, pulse, height and weight.

To liaise with the multi-disciplinary team and make them aware of any changes to a child or young person's condition.

To carry out all duties within good practice guidelines.
