Consultant Psychiatrist - ADHD
The closing date is 08 December 2025
Job summary
The Adult ADHD Service Line within Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust comprises two key services: the Adult ADHD Service and the South East London (SEL) ADHD Referral Triage Service. The Adult ADHD Service provides assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for adults with ADHD across Bromley, Bexley, and Greenwich, operating from an administrative base at Carlton Parade, Orpington, with a hybrid model of face-to-face and remote assessments. The service initiates and titrates ADHD medication, offering annual reviews or additional reviews as clinically indicated, before transferring stable care to GPs. The SEL ADHD Referral Triage Service delivers a centralised referral system for ADHD assessments across six SEL boroughs, ensuring equitable access and streamlined triage. Both services work collaboratively with GPs, Mental Health Hubs, and secondary care teams to manage complex cases, reduce waiting times, and maintain high standards of care in line with NICE guidance.
Main duties of the job
- Provide an assessment and diagnostic service for people referred to the ADHD service possibly with a wide range of problems, including those with complex issues.
- Provide documentation and make appropriate decisions and referrals for ongoing treatment by appropriate treatment models.
- Ensure that medication reviews and medication follow-up meetings take place within statutory timescales.
- Support the evaluation and assessment of clinical practice and outcomes using appropriate and agreed evaluation tools.
- Work with the Consultant Psychologist to embed risk management and clinical governance.
