Job summary
We are seeking to recruit a highly skilled, innovative and experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist, or Senior CBT Therapist, to provide operational, clinical and professional leadership in the Bexley Mental Health Hub.
The post holder will provide clinical leadership in the mental health hub and manage and develop the psychological therapies pathway, linking this to talking therapies services and secondary care mental health teams.
Main duties of the job
- Working with and reporting to the Head of Psychological Therapies in Primary care , the postholder will provide skilled and experienced leadership for the psychological therapies and staff in the wider hub
- The postholder will ensure the systematic provision of a high-quality specialist psychological therapies service across the Bexley mental health pathway.
- To supervise and support the psychological assessment and therapy provided by other psychologists and MDT staff who provide psychologically-based care and treatment.
- To oversee the psycho education group programme in the mental health hub
- To provide consultation to GPs and other referrers to the mental health hub and to advise about psychological treatments and pathways.
- To provide consultation and reflective practice and incident debriefs to the service and to facilitate team working, psychologically informed practice, trauma-informed care and appropriate treatment pathways to optimise service user journey and experience across service transitions.
- The post will also involve close organisational liaison with the wider Oxleas mental health system and third sector partners.
- To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research. To propose and implement policy changes within the area served by the teams/service. To contribute to the overall management of the service.
