Job summary

Following some additional funding and a review of needs we are pleased to advertise a new Directorate position of Directorate Lead Dietitian, ALD. This role will be responsible for the development of clinical services across the Adult Learning Disability outpatient services in Bromley, Bexley and Greenwich, as well as carrying a small complex caseload.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the dietetic clinical leadership and service development within the community-based adult learning disability services provided by Oxleas NHS foundation trust (Bromley, Bexley and Greenwich).

The post holder will be responsible for co-ordinating and setting the strategic direction for the service liaising with both internal and external stakeholders.

The post holder will be responsible for day to day management of the ALD dietetic service and any future staff, including recruitment, retention and deployment of staff, absence management, managing complaints, procurement and managing resources.

The postholder will maintain a highly specialist clinical caseload.

To communicate effectively with a range of health and care staff working in tertiary, secondary and primary care along with patients and carers, to support the ability of patients to remain safely in their home.

To be responsible for recruitment and selection, appraisals, formulation of personal development plans, attendance monitoring and recording for Dietetic staff.

  • To provide expert Dietetic advice, teaching and training to other staff members, both clinically trained and otherwise, both internal and external to the Trust.
