Job summary
The Matron for District Nursing Bexley will support the Operational Manager with the operational, strategic and clinical leadership for the district nursing service across Bexley within Adult Community Physical Health Care
They will be responsible for line managing band 7 district nursing team leads in the Bexley Borough.
The Matron for District Nursing Bexley will also line manage the Out of Hours services (Twilight & Night Services).
The Matron for District Nursing Bexley will also manage the End of Life Practice Development Nurse and oversee the Continuing Health Care equipment budget.
The Matron for District Nursing will work in partnership with service users, carers, staff and both internal and external agencies to ensure that care is planned and delivered in a manner that is consistent with evidence-based practice, policies and procedures. The post holder will proactively contribute to the development, maintenance and monitoring of service standards; evaluate data from service monitoring against national and local policies and develop action plans to ensure effectiveness of outcomes of the commissioned services.
Main duties of the job
To provide effective operational and strategic input into the development of strategy and policy for the delivery Adult Community Physical Health Care Directorate.
Ensure that the strategy is implemented within the managed teams and the agreed objectives/key performance indicators are achieved within the agreed timeframe.
Provide effective line management and ensure that all staff within the managed teams is appropriately managed and fit for purpose and practice.
Provide professional, managerial, and clinical leadership, guidance mentoring and support. Ensure there is appropriate clinical knowledge, skills, competence and experience available within the District Nursing Teams; in support of the provision of the highest quality clinical care services within the borough of Bexley.
