Job summary

Lead Nurse - Contraception & Sexual Health, Band 7 Permanent 37.5hours per week including evening and weekend working

The Contraception & Sexual Health Clinic at Market Street, Woolwich, is looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Lead nurse.

The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to work and lead effectively a multidisciplinary team within an innovative sexual and reproductive health service.

We require an individual who is forward thinking, well organised with a positive attitude towards flexibility and change.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will ensure that they provide a patient focused service and will be required to:

  • Manage and lead a multi-disciplinary Team
  • Have the necessary clinical skills to deliver nurse led sexual health clinics providing a high standard of care to symptomatic patients
  • Deliver all forms of contraception including Intrauterine Contraception and Sub-dermal implants
  • Have the ability to manage vulnerable patients
  • Mentor and support other nurses and Health Care Support Workers within the service
  • Be a Nurse prescriber or demonstrate ability and willingness to train
