Highly Specialised Clinical/Counselling/Forensic Psychologist, Band 8a Permanent - Full Time - 37.5 hours per week
This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team led by a multi-professional approved clinician. Psychology is seen as central to providing formulation driven treatment and supporting team development. There is a big emphasis on relational security and trauma informed care as well as systemic working. The role aims to provide a highly specialist psychology service to clients of Barefoot Lodge, an inpatient, community facing open door rehabilitation ward, and the Bexley CMHT (Erith Centre). This includes providing highly specialist psychological assessment, intervention and treatment and offering continuity between Barefoot Lodge and the CMHT. There is opportunity to supervise trainee clinical psychologists, assistant psychologists and qualified psychologists, to offer advice and consultation on clients' psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other non-professional carers. Working autonomously within professional guidelines and within the overall framework of the service's policies and procedures is expected, as is utilising research skills for audit, policy and service development
Main duties of the job
The inpatient community integration unit offers direct evidence-based psychological interventions and indirect work to impact on wider environment. You would provide psychological assessment, group and individual interventions, input to care planning and discharge planning, family interventions, reflective practice groups for staff andsupervision to trainee clinical psychologists and assistant psychologists, offering advice and consultation on clients' psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other non-professional carers. Utilising research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service.
The community-based part of the role in the Community Mental Health Rehabilitation and Enabling Service (CMHRES) involves continuing psychological input into clients' care referred to the team for intensive rehabilitation input in community context. The role also includes conducting complex psychological assessment for both CBT for Psychosis and Family Intervention as well as delivering one-to-one and group therapy, supervising trainee psychologists, assistant psychologists and qualified psychologists; offering advice and consultation on clients' psychological care to a range of wider services. There is potential for input also into a systemic family clinic linked to the service.
