Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a support worker, that is phlebotomy trained or willing to undertake training. The post will involve managing a case load supporting people with enduring mental health problems, and also assisting within physical health clinics to monitor and manage medication.

Main duties of the job

Clinical Responsibilitieso Knowledge, awareness and understanding of Mental Health Law,including legislation of particular relevance to the community sectorincluding the Community Care Act (2015) treatment legislation, theCare Programme Approach (2008), the Mental Capacity Act (2005)and Community Treatment Orders (CTO).o Working under the indirect supervision and guidance of a RegisteredMental Health Professional (RMHP) to implement care with a group ofservice users with mental health problems in a range of communitysettings, including service users' homes.o Participating in the assessment of service users' mental and physicalhealth, including risk assessment and early signs of relapse, promptlyreporting observations to the Registered Mental Health Professional(RMHP) with responsibility for care.o Participating in the planning of care, promoting independent living andworking towards recovery.o Providing care in accordance with individual service users' care plans.o Recognising and responding appropriately to "self-harm and suicideprevention" by service users in a community setting, in line with Trustpolicies and training guidelines.o Meeting the particular challenges regarding safeguarding in acommunity setting; recognising and reporting safeguarding issues asappropriate through raising 'safeguarding alerts' if you suspect that aservice user and/or carer has been exposed to harm or abuse.o Assisting with the supervision and monitoring of medication.
