We have an exciting opportunity for Band 5 Mental Health nurses to join our community mental health teams across Bexley, Bromley & Greenwich. As a registered nurse you will be responsible for promoting and delivering evidence based care and interventions to service users and their families in their own homes and community settings.
This is an exciting time to join the community mental health directorate with lots of development and initiatives as part of the wider transformation programme. Successful candidates will be part of integrated teams with vacancies in the following areas:
Greenwich intensive case management for psychosis teams
Greenwich Early Intervention team
Greenwich OPMH team
Bromley intensive case management for psychosis
Greenwich ADAPT
Physical health in mental health team
You will be supported to embed and develop in to your role through access to the Oxleas preceptorship programme for newly qualified nurses and a comprehensive induction and support structure within the community mental health directorate.
Main duties of the job
As a Registered Nurse working in a community setting you will work under the supervision of a Registered Mental Health Professional to promote and deliver evidence-based care for service users with mental health conditions in their own homes and within a variety of accommodation settings. Specific interventions and duties will vary according to the team and will be explained during induction.

Managing Caseload Significant knowledge, awareness and understanding of Mental HealthLaw, including legislation of particular relevance to the communitysector including the Community Care Act (2015) treatment legislation,the Care Programme Approach (2008), the Mental Capacity Act (2005)and Community Treatment Orders (CTO). Managing own work load as part of the community team (this will be areduced/protected case load). Co-ordinating care, communicating with other professionals involved inthe care and ensuring regular CPA reviews are held as required. Thiswill include communication with other teams for example in-patientservices through attendance at ward meetings and with interfaceservices e.g. Addictions service and CAMHS services whereappropriate. Independently carrying out assessment, care planning and carecoordination with excellent interpersonal skills, ability to listen to othersviews, respect and value individuals from a diverse range ofbackgrounds.
