Job summary

We are seeking enthusiastic and dynamic candidates for an exciting vacancy within Greenwich Community Learning Disability Team. This post is suitable for a newly qualified psychologist or existing Band 7 candidates interested in working in a creative and innovative team.

You will work closely with experienced psychological therapists where there is ample opportunity for continued professional development and specialist training courses. We are an integrated health and social care team who support adults with learning disabilities and welcome applicants who enjoy working closely alongside other disciplines and within a context where multiple psychological approaches are valued.

Main duties of the job

Our service offers particular opportunities in relation to systemic ways of working and over the past year we have developed a "Systemic Forum" to support specialist work in this area.

Your work will involve offering a range of therapeutic and specialist assessments and require you to work both with individuals with learning disabilities and also their wider support systems. Our service also offers a wide range of group interventions.

Our service is also committed to approaches that address inequalities and discrimination. Over the past 2-3 years we have developed a thriving antidiscrimination forum and more recently have created a LGBTQ+ group for service users and interested staff that has hosted two major events.

The successful applicant will receive regular specialist supervision, as well as additional systemic supervision provided by Dr Sandra Baum and Neuropsychology seminars and supervision and access to networks to support their professional development.

Based in Woolwich and working across the Royal Borough of Greenwich, the post will offer the opportunity to work with service users, colleagues and carers from highly diverse backgrounds.
