An opportunity has arisen to join the Administration Team as a Administrator Band 3 Bank, at HMP Leyhill,a category D open prison preparing prisoners for release and resettlement back into the community.

The healthcare department at HMP Leyhill is very much like a GP Surgery in the community and the role is like that of an GP Administrator.

Daily tasks include: to provide an integrated comprehensive secretarial and administrative support service to the integrated health care services at HMP Leyhill.

The prison is located just off the M5, 15 minutes away from Bristol and 30 minutes from Gloucester. There is plenty of free onsite parking, staff can also access the gym facilities for free before work and at lunchtime.

Our working hours are Monday-Friday 08:00-16:00.

Main duties of the job

Undertaking copy/audio typing and word processing support to the team for the provision of required client related reports, letters, discharge summaries etc, including legal documentation, whilst prioritising workload and meeting deadlines.

Dealing with incoming correspondence on a daily basis, distributing and taking appropriate action as necessary and ensuring urgent items are brought to the attention of a member of the team.

Preparing and presenting any statistical returns as necessary.

Undertake any administrative procedures required to support the team, for example arranging internal and external clinics.

Implementing and maintaining effective client filing systems, ensuring client records are safe, confidential, up to date and accessible.
