An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit two Band 6 Nurses within Oxleas Trust-wide Perinatal Mental Health Team.
The service comprises of three borough-based teams providing specialist, multidisciplinary perinatal mental health care for women from preconception, during pregnancy and up to one year postnatally. The three teams are co-located at Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup.
This post will offer a developmental opportunity for experienced nurses who have an interest in perinatal mental health speciality.They will work collaboratively with others in the Bexley, Bromley & Greenwich Perinatal Mental Health Service, professionals from other services (e.g. maternity services and health visiting) and with our experts by experience, to build on the achievements to date and continue to develop this high quality service to ensure excellent outcomes for women and their families.
This role will primarily be in the Greenwich and Bexley Teams.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will actively contribute to care provision of the tri-borough perinatal mental health service in Oxleas.
The role involves supported people during the perinatal period which covers conception to one year postnatal (currently expanding to 2 years). A wide range of previous experience of working within hospital and community settings is essential. the role will have a vast clinical component involving referral triaging, liaising with other services involved in the patients care. Sound clinical judgment is required.
Experience of working in perinatal mental health services in desirable but not essential.

As a member of the perinatal team y o u w i l l b e e x p e c t e d to exercise autonomous professional responsibility for managing a clinical caseload independently, providing specialist assessment and follow up for people referred with moderate to severe perinatal mental health problems in a variety of settings.
You will be required to record and update on RiO ensuring that entries are accurate and contemporaneous.
You will be accountable for own professional action and to seek advice and supervision from line manager where needed over ethical issues and Trust policies.
